The course objective of this course is to provide participants with an understanding to the operations and regulations of pet related industry such as pet shops, grooming facilities, pet boarding, puppy mills, shelters and veterinary clinics in Singapore. It is very useful for those pet retailers and also pet owners.

Covers several topics including: (1) Licensing and statutory requirements and regulations for the operations of pet-related industries, (2) Legislation and regulations related to pet ownership, (3) Legal implications of animal abuse, (4) Trade and import of illegal pets, animal feed, animal products and veterinary biologics.

This course is specially designed for the pet retail shop owners or employees who are handling or dealing with aquarium retail ornamental fish only in order to enhance their standards and competencies. It also aims to impart skills and knowledge important for responsible animal care and welfare amongst the pet retail shop personnel. Plus, provide knowledge about client education as part of their responsibility in promoting responsible pet ownership.

10.Diploma in Veterinary Technology

This course focuses on industry-oriented practical training in veterinary and aquaculture science. The students will have the opportunity to delve deeply into investigative and applied research in either bioconservation, aquaculture or veterinary science. With fully equipped animal and aquaculture facilities, fish farm as well as an on-site veterinary clinic, the students will receive up-to-date applied training to stay current and meet the manpower demand in the veterinary, aquaculture, biomedical research and pet industries. Moreover, they will go through clinical training at the veterinary clinics over a year in addition to the on-site applied and experiential learning at the industry workplace as part of the internship programme for at least 6 months.
